The ministry noted that there are currently 48 recruitment centers operating in Ukraine, including one online center. Their specialists provide consultations and support for potential candidates in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The recruitment centers, primarily located in the premises of the CPAU, offer strictly confidential consultations. It is prohibited to conduct mobilization activities and serve summonses by notification groups on their premises.
In November 2023, the Ministry of Defense initiated a recruitment project. This allows individuals to choose a specific unit and position where their civilian experience will be most beneficial. The Ministry of Defense is also collaborating with four services that post job vacancies: Olx.ua, Lobby X, Work.ua, and robota.ua.
The very first recruitment center was opened in Lviv in February 2024. In May-June, the average monthly rate of volunteer recruitment increased 3.5 times compared to 2022 and 2023. In the second quarter of the year, more than 10,000 people approached the recruitment centers.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that there are proposals within the ministry to reform the mobilization system to move away from the "painful issues" of "busification".
Meanwhile, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, tasked each brigade commander with creating a recruitment unit to enhance the organization and support of volunteer recruitment efforts.
