In the early days of the full-scale war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko, who was asking for forgiveness. This was revealed by the head of state in an interview with Lex Friedman.

And he apologized. He said it wasn't him. Missiles were launched from my territory, and the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was the one who issued the orders. Those were his words. I have witnesses.

Zelensky added that Lukashenko claimed he "does not control the situation, and that it is Putin's doing."

I told him not to worry, this was without my involvement... I told him that I consider you to be just as much a murderer, and I’m simply stating that. He replied, understand, you cannot fight the Russians.

Zelensky asked the Belarusian dictator how he allowed missiles to be fired at Ukraine from Belarus. In response, Lukashenko suggested that Zelensky strike the Mozyr Oil Refinery, which he said "means so much to him."

On October 16, Zelensky stated that Ukraine is already at war with three countries — Russia, North Korea, and Iran. However, he did not mention Belarus, which has become a launchpad for the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
