The uniform was found to be unsuitable for use
The Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered two founders of a private company in Kyiv who supplied wholesale batches of low-quality military uniforms to the National Guard units.
This was reported by the press center of the SBU.
According to the special service, from March to October 2023, the company shipped 30,000 sets of clothing for defenders, with a total value of 28.7 million UAH.
However, subsequent examinations revealed that the military uniforms were made using fittings that did not meet technical specifications. In particular, the materials used have a lower abrasion resistance class, meaning that soldiers would not be able to securely attach protective gear and ammunition reliably. Consequently, this poses a real threat to the life and health of soldiers on the front lines.
At the same time, it was established that the tailors intentionally "saved" on quality materials to purchase cheaper components and thus increase their profit.
During searches at the suspects' residences, commercial documentation and a hard drive containing evidence of the scheme were discovered.
SBU investigators informed both founders of the company of their suspicion of embezzling property by abusing their official position, committed on a particularly large scale in conspiracy with a group of individuals under martial law. All those responsible for the unsatisfactory execution of military orders are being identified.
Recall that in Kyiv, the Security Service of Ukraine detained an agent of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, who corrected missile and drone strikes on the city and committed arson at Ukrzaliznytsia facilities.
