He mentioned this to journalists in Brussels, as quoted by "Interfax-Ukraine".
According to Kellogg, on Tuesday, February 18, he will travel to Warsaw and from there take an overnight train to Kyiv, where he is expected to arrive on the morning of Wednesday, February 19.
The special representative did not confirm whether he would visit the front lines, as mentioned by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, since, as he claims, the program has not yet been finalized. Kellogg noted that he would be in Ukraine for three days.
“As for the trip to Ukraine, it is still in the finalization stage, meaning will I go there, the answer is yes. Will I have the opportunity to meet with President Zelensky? The answer is yes,” he stated.
He also reminded that he recently “saw” Zelensky during the Munich Security Conference, noting that on the first day of his visit, President Zelensky might not be in the city, “so we might have some events on the ground.”
Previously, the President of Ukraine mentioned that Kellogg was expected to stay in Ukraine for about two days, during which, as Zelensky hopes, he will visit the front and command some Ukrainian brigades.
It is worth noting that Kellogg's trip to Ukraine was initially planned for early January. He was supposed to meet with officials in Kyiv and also visit Rome and Paris. However, it was postponed.
Advisor to the Head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podolyak described the postponement of Kellogg's visit as a “positive signal.” In his opinion, it indicates that the Trump transition administration is reviewing the information provided by intelligence and “gaining a deeper understanding of what this war entails and what decisions can be implemented.”
Later, it became known that Kellogg plans to arrive in Ukraine between February 13 and 22. Zelensky mentioned that he would like to visit the front alongside the American special envoy so that he could “see our realities.”
