For the first time globally, the GUR has destroyed an aerial target using a maritime drone. The target was a Mi-8 helicopter.

Personnel from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense have announced that they have, for the first time in the world, successfully destroyed an aerial target using the Magura V5 sea drone.

This was reported by intelligence, referring to it as a "historic strike."

The operation was carried out by military special units of GUR Group 13 during a battle in the Black Sea near Cape Tarkhankut in temporarily occupied Crimea on December 31.

As a result of the use of P-73 SeeDragon missiles, a Russian Mi-8 helicopter was destroyed.

Another similar enemy helicopter sustained fire damage and managed to reach its base airfield.

Previously, GUR mentioned that international experts recognized the latest strike platform Magura V5 as the most effective drone in the Russo-Ukrainian war. Using these Ukrainian-manufactured naval drones, at least 18 Russian vessels were successfully targeted, including the high-speed boat "Tsunami."
