This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a comment to "Interfax-Ukraine".
They stated that the newly formed brigade "is acquiring capabilities during combat operations" and has its own brigade defense line in the Pokrovsk direction.
The military announced that even before "some organizational issues" of the brigade became known through the media, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had initiated an investigation into the situation, including a significant number of cases of unauthorized abandonment of the military unit.
The General Staff assured that they are taking measures to improve discipline and the psychological state of the servicemen. This has led to a reduction in the number of cases of unauthorized abandonment, they claim.
"Currently, the brigade's units are receiving additional personnel, and the brigade has been reinforced with drone units," the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.
Recently, journalist Yuriy Butusov stated that 1700 servicemen from the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Anna of Kyiv deserted even before the unit made its first shot.
The journalist describes the formation of the brigade as a complete organizational chaos in virtually all components. According to him, since March, when the brigade was formed, a certain number of fighters left due to unauthorized abandonment each month. In October, when the brigade went for training in France, there were already 935 cases of unauthorized abandonment. In France itself, another 50 members of the brigade deserted.
The State Bureau of Investigation noted that the investigation "is examining the facts presented in the media," having opened criminal cases under articles related to desertion and abuse of power by military officials.
Subsequently, President Volodymyr Zelensky took control of the situation regarding the desertion and unauthorized abandonment of military personnel in the 155th Brigade.
