In 2024, detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) submitted 26 criminal cases to court regarding the illegal export of agricultural products, while investigations are ongoing for 19 cases, reported acting BEB director Sergey Perkhun during a coordination meeting on agrologistics on Friday.
"So far, the Bureau's detectives have ensured the recovery of 1.3 billion UAH in damages from risky exporters. These funds have already been transferred to the state budget," the BEB press service quoted him as saying.
According to BEB specialists' estimates, based on risks identified by the State Tax Service, the volume of shadow exports is approximately 6% of the total export volume. At the same time, the potential risk of budget losses from improper taxes reaches around 8.5 billion UAH.
As reported, participants in the agrologistics coordination council discussed the prospect of amending regulatory legal acts. The discussion focused on improving customs declarations and establishing open registries for certificates and agricultural product exporters.
