The Belarusian generals have decided to outdo even the Russians in their claim to similarity and boldly announced that they have adopted their own version of Starlink from SpaceX, named "Kulisа".
This was reported by Vadim Romani, the chief of communications for the Belarusian armed forces, whose segment was aired on central Belarusian television.
Although no images of this satellite communication system were shown in the segment, just two weeks ago, another Belarusian channel, CTVBY, featured it in a segment titled "Elon Musk Got Nervous! Belarusian Analog of Starlink," providing quite a detailed look.
1In reality, if anyone should be concerned, it would be the hypothetical AliExpress, where a genuine "raid" was conducted to create this "Kulisа." Because this entire system is remarkably distant from Starlink and is assembled from what was evidently available for purchase and interconnected.
2Specifically, inside the case is standard civilian communication equipment, and the only conditionally military component is the hardware-software IP encryption device called "Prutok-Sh."
3The video also includes a diagram of this entire "Kulisа" complex, or MKC-T, which in practice is merely a collection of standard networking equipment.
4The only element left to showcase is the antenna, resembling a typical "dish" for communication with, evidently, commercial telecommunications satellites from the pre-Starlink era. Such satellites have existed since the 2000s and are now being forgotten due to the emergence of Starlink.
5In Belarus, where Starlink does not operate, it seems there is no mention that Starlink is not just about terminals but involves over 6,000 satellites in orbit that facilitate its operation across the civilized world.
