President Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine following statements regarding the transfer of servicemen to infantry.
He announced this during his evening address.
According to Zelensky, he had a separate conversation with the commander of the Air Forces due to the outrage and discussions surrounding the topic of transfers.
I instructed to clarify everything to the public and not to reduce the number of specialists needed by the Air Forces to carry out combat missions — for our aviation, air defense, and mobile fire groups, — stated Zelensky.
On December 14, servicemen reported the transfer of specialists from the Air Forces to units of other branches and types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, particularly to infantry. They expressed concerns about potential issues with aircraft maintenance due to this decision, which could affect the combat readiness of aviation brigades.
Members of Parliament claimed that such an order allegedly came from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
At the same time, the command emphasized that key specialists remain in their positions, and only certain categories of personnel are being assigned to other branches of the military.
