Ukrainian forces remain on the northern outskirts of the village of Velyka Novosilka, located in the so-called Vremivka salient — where the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions meet. Today, the Russians launched an assault and lost two tanks along with several armored vehicles.
This was reported by a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, representative of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade, Serhiy Volkov, during a broadcast of the national telethon "Unified News."
"We have been there for a long time alongside adjacent units in a semi-encirclement. Unfortunately, the flanks were giving way, so we had to withdraw from the depths of the village to preserve the lives of our guys.
We are still present in the settlement, awaiting information from the General Staff, and fighting is ongoing. There were powerful assaults today. Our unmanned systems battalion destroyed two tanks and several armored vehicles.
So, they rested there for a couple of days, but today a strong mechanized assault took place again. Their current task is to saturate this settlement with personnel, to deploy mortars and artillery in order to further be able to dislodge our positions that are located around," — Serhiy Volkov explained.
