American leader Donald Trump has expressed concern over Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's rejection of his proposal. The United States hopes that the Ukrainian president will accept it in due time.
This was stated by the U.S. National Security Advisor Michael Waltz.
"President Trump is currently very disappointed with President Zelensky and the fact that he has not come to the negotiating table, that he has not accepted the proposal we offered. I believe he will accept it in time, and I really hope it will be very soon," Waltz said.
At the same time, he noted that President Trump has clearly communicated to the Russian side that the main idea is a ceasefire.
President Trump has clearly stated to the Russian side, and I will say it clearly now: the idea is to stop the fire. And we can talk for a very long time about what happened somewhere at some point," the advisor added.
