U.S. President Donald Trump signed nine documents while addressing supporters at the Capital One stadium in Washington, with the broadcast provided by ABC.
Among his directives:
- Cancellation of 78 orders and memoranda from Biden;
- Freezing the implementation of new regulations by bureaucrats "until full control" over the federal government is established;
- Freezing hiring for federal positions, with exceptions for the military and certain other categories;
- Ordering all federal employees to immediately return from remote work;
- Directing all federal agencies to address the cost of living crisis;
- Withdrawal from the Paris Agreement;
- Letter to the UN regarding the U.S. exit from the Paris climate agreement;
- Mandate for the federal government to restore free speech and eliminate censorship;
- Prohibition on using the justice system against political opponents from the previous administration.
During his speech, Trump recalled how he was criticized for calling the term "tariffs" his favorite.
They asked: what about love, religion, and God? I replied: I agree, let God be first, religion second. Love, I don't know, let it be third, perhaps? And then tariffs. Because they will make us fabulously rich.
After the event at the stadium, Trump headed to the White House to sign new orders, including one regarding the U.S. withdrawal from the World Health Organization.
