The overall losses of the Russians in the Kursk region have reached nearly 50,000 individuals. Approximately 20,000 of them are dead.
This was reported in Telegram by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
While in the Sumy region, Syrskyi awarded honorary distinctions to Ukrainian servicemen who maintain the security zone and carry out combat missions, including in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
"These are primarily the brigades of the Air Assault Forces, as well as units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among them are those who repel enemy assaults in Kursk and conduct effective offensive operations themselves," he stated.
The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that thanks to these soldiers, the Ukrainian front in the north is strong.
"Thanks to them, Ukraine, six months after the start of the Kursk offensive operation, retains control over hundreds of square kilometers of the territory of the aggressor country, while the enemy continues to suffer significant losses in personnel and equipment. Indeed, the total losses of the enemy in the Kursk region amount to over 48,000 individuals, of which approximately 20,000 are dead," he concluded.
