Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with U.S. Special Representative Keith Kellogg on Thursday, February 20. They discussed, among other topics, the situation at the front and in the Ukrainian economy.

This was reported via the Telegram channel of the head of the Ukrainian government.

"Ukraine is courageously and decisively holding back Russian military aggression on our sovereign territory, and we are grateful to the U.S. and all Americans for their support in this war initiated by Russia. Mr. Kellogg's mission is to help establish a just and lasting peace. He has the full support of the Ukrainian government in this endeavor," Shmyhal stated.

He informed the U.S. special representative about Ukraine's daily resistance to Russian aggression and shared insights on the economic situation.

"Despite the war, we are developing defense production, covering social expenditures, and every hryvnia of taxpayer money is directed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The economy is operating on a wartime basis. The government is ready to work alongside the U.S. administration to achieve pragmatic and mutually beneficial outcomes for our countries," the Prime Minister added.

Shmyhal also briefed Kellogg on the daily Russian terror against Ukrainians, attacks on energy infrastructure, and other crimes.

"I emphasized that Ukraine is more than ever striving for peace. However, it must be a just peace with reliable security guarantees and accountability for the aggressor. It is crucial that any peace negotiations regarding Ukraine involve Ukraine itself. We count on U.S. leadership in ensuring a fair and reliable peace," he remarked.
