The Defense Forces of Ukraine are holding back the advance of Russian occupiers. However, the occupiers continue to destroy Ukrainian cities and villages with missile, aerial, and artillery strikes. This is confirmed by the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Operational information as of 16:00 on January 15, 2025, regarding the Russian invasion. At this time, there have been 48 combat engagements.
According to the General Staff, today communities in the following settlements suffered from enemy artillery and mortar fire: Halahanivka in the Chernihiv region; Oleksandrivka, Popivka, Prohres in the Sumy region; Vidrodzhenske, Tymoshivka in the Kharkiv region.
- In the Kharkiv direction, one combat engagement occurred near Tykhe.
- In the Kupiansk direction, Russian occupiers attacked Defense Forces positions twice in the vicinity of the settlements of Topoli and Petropavlivka, and fighting is ongoing.
- In the Lyman direction, the invading army launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Kopanky, Novoserhiivka, Tverdokhlibove, Makiivka, Kolodiazi, Terny, and Hryhorivka throughout the day. Six combat engagements are still ongoing. Enemy aviation struck with NARs in Zelenyi Hai.
- In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders are repelling two assaults from Russian invaders. The enemy, with air support, is attempting to break through to Predtechyn and in the area of Chasiv Yar. Additionally, the enemy carried out an airstrike on Min'kivka.
- In the Toretsk direction, our defenders are repelling two enemy assault actions in the area of the settlement of Toretsk. Furthermore, the enemy conducted an airstrike with a FAB on Kramatorsk.
- In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian invaders made 17 attempts to push our defenders from their occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Baranivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zelenyi, Zvirivka, Uspenivka, Andriivka, and Dachne.
- The Defense Forces are holding back the pressure and have repelled nine enemy attacks, with eight combat engagements still ongoing.
- In the Novopavlivsk direction, the enemy attempted to break through our defenders' defenses once in the area of the settlement of Vremivka. The battle is ongoing.
- In the Dnipro direction, the enemy conducted an airstrike with NARs in the area of Piatykhatky.
- In the Kursk direction, there have been 11 combat engagements since the start of the day, eight of which are still ongoing. In addition, the enemy has carried out seven airstrikes, dropping 12 guided bombs.
