The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded research on biological weapons. This was stated by Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, on the social media platform X.

Did you know that USAID, using YOUR tax dollars, financed bioweapon research, including COVID-19, which resulted in the deaths of millions of people?

The billionaire, who heads the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), reshared a post from another user claiming that USAID is a "CIA front organization" and asserting that the agency transferred $53 million to EcoHealth Alliance, which used taxpayer money to support coronavirus research in a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

Musk also shared numerous tweets where users endorse the idea of cutting funding to USAID, labeling the agency as "the largest global terrorist organization in history."

In one of his messages, Musk stated that USAID is a criminal organization and that "it is time for it to die." He announced the beginning of the agency's liquidation.

CNN, citing sources, reported that two senior USAID officials were placed on unpaid leave on February 1 after they attempted to deny access to the agency's systems to officials from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led by Musk.

USAID has supported numerous humanitarian programs worldwide, including projects in Ukraine.

On the day of Donald Trump's inauguration, he froze USAID assistance to foreign countries for 90 days to conduct a review of programs for compliance with "American values" and U.S. foreign policy objectives.

Following this, USAID staff in Ukraine began receiving orders to halt all work. Programs supporting schools and hospitals, as well as economic and energy infrastructure development, were put at risk.

On February 1, Politico and Reuters reported that the Trump administration was considering dissolving the agency and transferring it under the control of the U.S. State Department. The following day, the agency's website became inaccessible.
