Италия выделит 13 миллионов евро для Фонда поддержки энергетического сектора Украины.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa, signed an agreement to contribute EUR 13 million to the Fund for the Support of Energy in Ukraine in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Roman Andarak, as reported by the Ministry of Energy on Friday evening.

"We thank Italy for its support in the recovery of the Ukrainian energy sector. This assistance will enable the procurement of essential equipment and strengthen the resilience of the Ukrainian energy system in a situation where the enemy relentlessly attacks energy facilities, while Ukrainian energy workers tirelessly restore the damaged infrastructure," noted Andarak.

The Fund for the Support of Energy in Ukraine was established in April 2022 through a joint initiative by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Haluschenko, and the European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, based at the Energy Community Secretariat.

Currently, the announced contributions from partners to the Fund exceed EUR 1 billion. Among the donors are both public and private sectors from over 30 countries, including EU member states, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as international and regional organizations.

During its operation, the Fund has become an effective tool for providing international assistance in the energy sector, enabling Ukrainian energy workers to restore energy facilities following Russian attacks, carry out repairs, and install new capacities.
