The UK government has announced sanctions against the Russian companies "Gazprom Neft" and "Surgutneftegas." This was reported by the UK Foreign Office.
This marks the first time these companies have been included in the British sanctions list.
Each blow to Russia's oil revenues is another step towards a just peace in Ukraine, as well as a move towards security and prosperity in the UK and beyond.
The British Foreign Office reminded that in just the past month, official London has imposed sanctions on over 20 tankers transporting Russian oil. In total, 93 vessels have been subjected to British sanctions.
Since the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Western countries have begun to impose sanctions en masse to pressure the Russian economy.
Currently, Russian companies such as "Aeroflot," "Rostec," "Uralvagonzavod," "Sovcomflot," Russian Railways (RZD), "Severstal," and PJSC "KamAZ" are among those under UK sanctions.
It is worth noting that on January 10, the US Department of the Treasury also announced sanctions against the Russian companies "Gazprom Neft" and "Surgutneftegas."
