The Antimonopoly Committee has fined two construction companies 106 million UAH for collusion in road repair bidding.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has imposed a fine of 106 million UAH on LLC "Construction Management of Mechanization" (Vinnytsia) and LLC "Bridge Construction Team No. 112" (Brovary) for engaging in anti-competitive coordinated actions during tenders for the major repair of bridges and roads.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has fined LLC "Construction Management of Mechanization" (Vinnytsia) and LLC "Bridge Construction Team No. 112" (Brovary) a total of 106 million UAH for anti-competitive coordinated actions during tenders for the major repairs of bridges and roads.

As reported by the press service of the agency, the aforementioned companies participated in 10 procurements for the capital repair and reconstruction of overpasses, bridges, and roads from 2019 to 2021, conducted by the road services in Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Rivne, and Zhytomyr regions, as well as the State Enterprise "Agency of Local Roads." The total value of the contracts at the tenders exceeded 600 million UAH.

Following the investigation, the AMCU identified coordinated actions between the companies to participate in the specified tenders, which resulted in the elimination of competition among them. For this legal violation, the companies were fined 106 million UAH. Additionally, these companies will be barred from participating in public procurements for three years.

According to OpenDataBot, the owners and beneficiaries of LLC "Construction Management of Mechanization" are Alina Yavorska (75%) and Vladyslav Fedko (25%). By the end of 2023, the company reported a net profit of 82.8 thousand UAH, which is 24% more than in 2022. However, net income fell by 70.6% last year, totaling 49.8 million UAH.

The owners of LLC "Bridge Construction Team No. 112" include LLC "Metkon Plus" (70%) and Oleksandra Porozhniuk (30%), with the ultimate beneficiaries being Porozhniuk and Vyacheslav Babitsky. According to the financial results for 2023, the company increased its net profit by 3.4 times to 14.3 million UAH, while net income grew 4.6 times to 1.62 billion UAH.
