President Vladimir Zelensky announced this during his evening video address.
According to him, 1.6 million applications have been submitted for financial assistance for children.
The president noted that the first payments have already begun, and he shared how they are being spent. Approximately half of the payments have been allocated for utility services. A "significant portion" is directed towards volunteer funds.
"It is very important that people can support our army through these funds," the president stated.
In October, President Vladimir Zelensky instructed the government to implement a new support program starting December 1. It is planned to provide each citizen in Ukraine with one thousand hryvnias.
Funds can be received regardless of age and social status, and they must be spent during the winter. The money can be used to pay for utilities, medications, transportation, mobile services, the purchase of Ukrainian books, and other services, as well as to donate to support the army.
Funds can be received on a "National Cashback" card, which can be opened in "Diia," or through "Ukrposhta." Applications for participation in the program must be submitted from December 2024 to February 2025.
