Zelensky proposed appointing General Golubtsov as the Deputy Commander of the Air Forces.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, to evaluate the appointment of Brigadier General Serhiy Holubtsov as Deputy Commander of the Air Forces.

The head of state reported this in an evening address on February 13.

Zelensky explained that it is necessary to "strengthen" the Air Forces, specifically the aviation component — military aviation.

Syrsky and the Air Forces have not yet commented on the president's proposal.

What is known about Golubtsov?

There is not much information available about Sergey Golubtsov in public sources. He holds the position of Chief of Aviation for the Ukrainian Air Force Command.

From 2011 to 2015, he served as the commander of the 114th Tactical Aviation Brigade. In 2022, he led the Air Command "Center." On February 28, 2022, he was awarded the rank of Brigadier General.

He has been awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree (2022) and the Order of Daniel of Galicia (2012).
