According to him, during the meeting, they discussed in detail the situation on the battlefield, the return of prisoners, and security guarantees.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready for a “strong, truly beneficial agreement” with the President of the United States regarding investments and security.
He also noted that the Ukrainian side proposed a “quick and most constructive way to achieve results.”
“Our team is prepared to work 24/7. From the very first second of this war, Ukraine has been striving for peace, and we can and must make peace reliable and lasting so that Russia can never return with war again,” the president emphasized.
After the meeting, a press conference was planned, but it was canceled at the request of the American side.
Earlier, Zelensky mentioned that on the first day of his visit to Kyiv, Kellogg met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, heads of intelligence and special services, and also met with the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak.
Kellogg's trip to Ukraine was scheduled for early January. He was supposed to meet with officials in Kyiv and also visit Rome and Paris. However, it was postponed.
Subsequently, it became known that Kellogg plans to arrive in Ukraine between February 13 and 22. Zelensky expressed that he would like to go to the front with the American special envoy so that he could “see our realities.”
On the morning of February 19, the U.S. special envoy arrived in the Ukrainian capital by train from Poland. It was reported that the visit would last three days.
