Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss a joint action plan to end the war.

This was reported on the official website of the head of state.

The President's Office emphasized that hostilities must conclude with a "just, sustainable peace," ensuring that Ukrainians can be confident that "Russia will never return with war again."

It was also noted that the leaders discussed formats for new communications to hold consultations between European countries and the United States.

Earlier, Meloni stated her desire to hold an urgent summit involving Washington and European nations. In her view, allies must openly discuss how to address modern challenges.

The Italian Prime Minister emphasized: "Any division of the West makes us all weaker and benefits those who would like to see the decline of our civilization."

It is worth noting that Meloni was the only leader from the European Union to attend the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President Donald Trump. Subsequently, she also defended the American president's statements regarding Greenland, Canada, and Panama.

On March 2, Meloni is participating in a summit with more than a dozen European countries convened by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
