[…] Arm him (Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — ed.) to the teeth. Give him a bunch of F-16s, not just a few F-16s. Give them ATGMs, give them tanks because they will fight,” he stated.
Donald Trump announced that he wants to reach an agreement with Kyiv whereby Ukraine will supply the United States with rare earth minerals needed for electronics in exchange for American aid.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine is open to American investments. He mentioned that he discussed this with the American president in September 2024, and also included this in his Victory Plan as one of the points.
The President of Ukraine also noted that Kyiv does not intend to “give away” its minerals to the U.S., but instead offers a mutually beneficial partnership.
Before the meeting between Zelensky and the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury in Kyiv, Trump claimed that Ukraine, “in essence,” agreed to grant Washington access to rare earth minerals worth $500 billion.
