Bozumbaev commented on such assumptions during a press conference, which is quoted by the Kazakh publication Orda.
He stated that "even preliminary conclusions are impossible," but specialists have arrived at the crash site to conduct investigations in cooperation with services from other countries.
Earlier, a video circulated on the internet showing what appeared to be the tail section of the aircraft, riddled with holes of unknown origin. It was suggested that they were caused by bullets or debris.
"At this point, I cannot make any unfounded statements", said the Deputy Prime Minister.
He added that parts of the aircraft are scattered over a distance of about 500 meters, and the crew requested to land in Kazakhstan after colliding with birds.
Meanwhile, Andrey Kovalenko, the director of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, stated that the aircraft was shot down by a Russian surface-to-air missile system.
According to him, Russia did not close the airspace over Grozny, and when the aircraft was damaged by Russian fire, it was sent to Kazakhstan instead of making an emergency landing in Grozny.
On December 25, an Embraer aircraft, which was en route from Baku to Russian Grozny, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau. According to news agencies, the aircraft signaled a state of emergency while over the Caspian Sea.
As reported by the Chechnya airport, due to fog in Grozny, the aircraft was redirected to Makhachkala and then to Aktau. Footage published by witnesses at the scene shows the plane descending over Aktau airport. It then crashes into the ground at an angle. The video captures an explosion and a plume of smoke.
