This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
On February 20 at 6:05, a gray Renault Duster exploded near a house on East Avenue in the temporarily occupied Berdyansk. The vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire, and Russian occupation services arrived at the scene.
Inside the car was Yevgeny Bogdanov — a citizen of Russia, who formally held the position of so-called Deputy Head of the Occupation Administration of Berdyansk.
The responsibilities of the Russian invader included, among other things, overseeing finances within the occupation administration and organizing the construction of fortifications in the temporarily occupied areas of the Zaporizhia region.
The GUR states that during his time in the occupied Ukrainian territories, Yevgeny Bogdanov repeatedly committed war crimes against Ukrainian citizens.
Bogdanov was born in 1970 in the city of Pikalevo, Leningrad Oblast, Russia. He arrived in Berdyansk immediately after the city was captured by Russian troops in 2022. His appointment to the occupation administration was made by Russian special services.
