The occupier took a girl from the Kharkiv region to Belgorod, where he forcibly held her in an apartment for over a year and assaulted her, according to the Prosecutor General's Office.

Law enforcement officials have identified a Russian soldier who orchestrated the deportation of a resident from the Kharkiv region to Belgorod, where he held her captive and subjected her to sexual assault for over a year.
Оккупант вывез девушку из Харьковщины в Белгород, более года удерживал ее в квартире и подвергал насилию — сообщает ОГП.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General and the National Police.

The suspect is a serviceman from the 1st Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, who participated in the capture of the Izium region.

According to the investigation, in the spring of 2022, while in one of the villages of the Izium region, the occupant broke into a house where a 21-year-old girl lived with her family. He grabbed her and forcefully dragged her to a neighboring house, where there was no one else. Threatening her with a firearm, the occupant raped the girl. He later did it again.

Afterward, the soldier asked two other occupants with call signs Ibrahim and Maga to take the girl to Russian Belgorod.

In June 2022, they arrived at her place, ordered her to pack her belongings and documents immediately, and threatened to shoot her entire family if she refused or resisted. The Russians forced her into a vehicle and took her to the border crossing point "Verigovka," where they made her go through passport control.

On the Russian side of the border, the suspect was already waiting for her. The man brought the girl to an apartment in Belgorod, where he kept her against her will for over a year, raped her, and systematically beat her.

“To prevent the girl from escaping, the windows and balcony were secured with iron bars, and the front door was always locked,” the investigators established.

Systematic beatings, psychological suffering, illegal detention, and sexual slavery drove the girl to attempt suicide. She ingested boric acid.

Eventually, she managed to escape captivity after the occupant was detained by the military law enforcement of Russia for evading service. The girl is now in Ukraine.

The occupant has been informed in absentia of suspicion of cruel treatment of civilians and violations of the laws and customs of war, committed by a group of individuals in collusion (Part 1 of Article 438, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to 12 years in prison.
