The NABU is investigating a apartment valued at over 17 million hryvnias, where Minister Koval resides, reports “Slidstvo.Info.”

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau is investigating possible illegal enrichment of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaliy Koval. Journalists previously uncovered that the official resides in a premium-class residential complex in the capital, living in an apartment owned by his retired mother-in-law.

The agency clarified that if NABU confirms the unjustified acquisition of assets by Koval, the materials will be forwarded to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to file a lawsuit for the recognition of such assets as unjustified and for their confiscation in favor of the state.

Journalists from "Slidstvo.Info" discovered that Vitaliy Koval declared that since August 2023, his wife has been renting an apartment in Kyiv with an area of 170 square meters. The entire family of the minister resides in this building.

The apartment is owned by the minister's mother-in-law, Halyna Baranyuk, who purchased it in July 2021 — that summer, such housing cost 17.7 million hryvnias. The woman apparently had no official income to support this purchase.
