A number of world leaders expressed their support for Ukraine after its leader, Vladimir Zelensky, clashed with Donald Trump.

The first to show support was Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who posted on his page: “Dear Vladimir Zelensky, dear Ukrainian friends, you are not alone.”

French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized: “Russia is the aggressor, Ukraine is the victim; we must respect those who have been fighting from the very beginning.” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez wrote on his page on X: “Ukraine, Spain is with you.”

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote a message in Ukrainian: “Your dignity honors the courage of the Ukrainian people. Be strong, be brave, be fearless. You will never be alone, dear President [Zelensky]. We will continue to work with you for a just and sustainable peace.”

Former European Parliament President Josep Borrell stated that Trump and Vance put on a disgraceful show: “I am ashamed of such behavior. The USA deserves better.”

Ukraine also received support from various other European and American politicians: German Foreign Minister Annalen Baerbock, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czechia, Estonian diplomat Kaimo Kuusk, and others.

The head of the German delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and deputy chair of the CDU faction in the Bundestag, Johann Wadephul, called Trump's attitude towards Zelensky a “stab in the back” and emphasized: “Free Europe will not betray Ukraine!”

In addition to politicians, support for Ukraine was voiced by director and comedian Ben Stiller, founder of the space company Richard Branson, former NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, historian Timothy Snyder, and others.

Meanwhile, the official White House page stated that President Trump and Vice President Vance “put America first,” while Zelensky “showed disrespect in the Oval Office.” This assertion was supported by a number of US politicians loyal to Trump.

What happened between Zelensky and Trump?

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky clashed with his American counterparts Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance regarding the Russia-Ukraine war.

Initially, Vance claimed that the war between Russia and Ukraine should be resolved through diplomacy. In response, the Ukrainian president stated that he had already signed an agreement with Putin, in the presence of the President of France and the Chancellor of Germany.

Zelensky also mentioned that if a bad agreement were signed between Russia and Ukraine, the United States would “feel it.” Vance and Trump reacted with outrage, stating that they would be “just fine,” and added that Zelensky had no right to impose his opinion.
