Canada has announced military aid to Ukraine exceeding $305 million.

During the 25th meeting in the "Ramstein" format, Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair announced that Canada will provide military assistance to Ukraine amounting to 440 million Canadian dollars (over 305 million US dollars).

This is reported on the Canadian government's website.

It is noted that 200 million CAD (almost 139 million USD) will go towards a Czech initiative for the procurement and supply of large-caliber ammunition to Ukraine.

Canada will also allocate 100 million CAD (69 million USD) for the production of Ukrainian military drones based on the “Danish model”.

Additionally, 30 million CAD (over 20 million USD) will be allocated for winter gear. Several tranches of this donation were delivered to Ukraine in December 2024.

Another 64 million CAD (44 million USD) was donated by Ottawa for high-resolution cameras for drones, which were delivered to Ukraine in November and December 2024.

As explained by the Canadian government, the donations announced on January 9 are part of an additional military aid package to Ukraine amounting to 500 million CAD (347 million USD), announced at the NATO summit in 2024, and 1.6 billion CAD (1.1 billion USD) included in the 2024 budget.

The total amount of military aid from Canada to Ukraine since the full-scale invasion by Russia has reached 4.5 billion CAD, or 3.1 billion USD. This includes multipurpose drones, armored personnel carriers, anti-tank weapons, small arms, M777 howitzers, and ammunition.

Furthermore, Canada has allocated up to 389 million CAD (270 million USD) to enhance the training of Ukrainian F-16 pilots. With Canada’s support, over 43,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel have also been trained.
