DeepState reported that Russia has occupied Kurakhove. However, "Khortytsia" claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are maintaining their positions.

On the night of January 11, the analytical project Deep State stated that the Russian army occupied Kurakhove.

Additionally, the morning report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 11 did not mention the Kurakhove direction — the city of Kurakhove, along with the nearby Dachne, Yasinove, and Yantarnoye, was included in the Pokrovsk direction.

According to Viktor Trehubov, Ukrainian forces are holding positions within Kurakhove, and the Russians have not completely occupied the city.

“According to my information, there are battles ongoing in the Kurakhove area. In particular, Ukrainian positions are held at the thermal power station located in the city of Kurakhove, so we cannot say that Russian troops have fully taken the city. Although, of course, a large part of the city has been reduced to rubble. This must be acknowledged,” — said a representative of the OSHV "Khortytsia."

Trehubov emphasized that the Defense Forces have not left Kurakhove.

“Since Ukrainian troops are still maintaining positions within the city limits, we cannot speak of any withdrawal,” — he stressed.

Situation in Kurakhove

On January 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the complete capture of Kurakhove. At the same time, Ukrainian defenders reported ongoing Russian assaults in urban areas.

As early as late December, Russia claimed that all urban areas in Kurakhove had come under the control of the occupiers. At that time, an analyst from the German publication Bild stated that the Defense Forces had already withdrawn from the city. However, the 46th Separate Air Mobile Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of Ukraine reported that heavy fighting is still ongoing in the vicinity of Kurakhove and within the city.

The head of the communication department of the 46th Brigade, Alexander Nevidomy, stated that the occupiers are storming the urban area in small infantry groups of 2 to 5 people. They are using strike drones and UAVs for drops, FPV with fiber optics, and are moving with motorcycles and cars.

“They crawl like ants. They hide in cracks like cockroaches. They take cover in buildings like rats. And the paratroopers of the 46th Air Mobile Brigade have to flush them out from everywhere. Drone operators work without rest, and engineers barely manage to equip new devices for airlifting and clearing areas of Russian intruders,” — the military reported.
